Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American TV personality who is a chef, and a an instructor from the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef and her distinctive spiky blond locks and pumped up personality, explains the basics of cooking that any person can master. Burrell is a chef who has been in the kitchen for a long time. Burrell is also an experienced chef of New York City's best restaurants. She also has learned about Italy's food traditions and the culture of Italy, as well as the geography. As a child in the upstate of New York, Chef Burrell developed a passion for food and cooking in her early years. The Culinary Institute of America is where she enrolled after earning an English degree as well as a communications certificate from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America has been a great learning experience. I was never able to learn or do enough. Following her graduation, Chef Burrell was able to spend a full period of time in Italy studying at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. It was during this time that her experience in Italy helped her to understand and appreciate Italian way of life and its culture and has made an impact on her own perception of food. Burrell serves on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens the lives of kids who struggle. Burrell is also a Juvenile diabetes Research Foundation celebrity advocate, where she has a mission to raise awareness for young diabetics. She is a frequent guest speaker at conferences and travels across the nation to mentor others in her role. Anne said she felt lucky in that she could be able to share her passion for cooking with others.
