Vinita Nair
In July 2004 she joined the station and covered a variety of topics, including investigating the murder of Jon Benet Ramsey and the shootings that occurred in Bailey, Colorado. Nair was commissioned as a reporter for ABC News in December 2007 as an anchor and correspondent for ABC News Now. In this role she anchors live news coverage as well as news briefs on ABC's digital network. Nair co-anchored World News Now on ABC starting on September 17 the 17th of September, 2008. from September 17, 2008 until February 18, 2011, and America This Morning. In both programs, Nair began her collaboration by Jeremy Hubbard. Later she co-anchored the show with Rob Nelson. On February 17 2011 Nair revealed that Friday February 18, would be her final broadcast night at World News Now. It would also be one final day of work for ABC News. Peggy Bunker from KDVR Denver became her replacement immediately. The edition on February 18, World News Now paid tribute to Nair during each of its three segments, including appearances by former and current colleagues, including Jeremy Hubbard. Nair treated her crew to hot food during her last day.
